Front Line Leadership Development
The frontline leader faces a multitude of challenges, often assuming a leadership role without prior management experience. At Advocate, frontline leaders are the focus of an extensive program of CNE and training designed to enhance their effectiveness through building skills in communication, coaching and conflict management. Through didactic and experiential learning experiences such as role play and self-assessment, learners sharpen their leadership acumen in addressing real life work issues in a safe setting. RNs participating in these courses can receive contact hours if they meet course requirements.
Additionally, dedicated courses to develop clinical coaches are offered to new preceptors. This course helps clinical coaches gain insight into processes and practices to help the new nurse transition to practice with emphasis on providing feedback and competency assessment
How to get involved: After successful transition to practice with the completion of orientation, The Advocate Nurse will work with the clinical coach and nurse manager to identify annual development goals, including opportunities to participate in leadership classes, such as precepting or leadership development classes that support meeting the goals.
